Around Midnight - TintypeI love the process of photography, especially the older ones that were around at the beginning of photography. Somehow the process takes my mind back in time and my photograph goes along for the ride, it looks old, and has the marks of the makers hand, for better or worse. It is contrasty and backward, the blues are white and the reds are black. I was struck by the feeling that this woman stepped out on the porch at midnight under a full moon. 8x10

Later I learned more about the art photographers of the past and came to identify with them and the work they made more fully

I've spent the last 30 winters in Portland Oregon wearing long underwear from October to March

This photograph " Tulips on Paper " and I have a long history together

The power plant closed in 1993 and the 75 acre site became a public park

17 years later I can still remember the session and the conversations we had

0" inches on an 11 x 14" sheet

I printed an edition of 10 numbered prints and  2 A/P prints
